Kickoff and Networking Event

November 17th 2025

Meet fellow participants, form teams, learn program expectations, and connect with mentors and innovation leaders to begin shaping your healthcare innovation journey.

Learn the Entrepreneurship Basics

November to December 2025

Explore innovation fundamentals including needs finding, customer discovery, market analysis, intellectual property, and startup pathways to build a strong foundation for your project.

Conduct Interviews and Develop Innovative Pitch

January to February 2026

Engage stakeholders, validate your problem and solution, refine your concept, and begin crafting a compelling pitch that communicates value, feasibility, and impact.

Present at Spring Symposium

March 6th 2026

Present your innovation to judges, compete for prize funding, and gain visibility with healthcare leaders and venture partners supporting promising ideas beyond the competition.

2024-2025 FutureMed Winners

Celebrating innovation in healthcare at FutureMed!

First Place - Clinisynq

Neal Dalal, Elizabeth Peck, Joy Xie, Yash Shah founded Clinisynq to address clinical trial workflow inefficiencies. After winning FutureMed and receiving a $2,500 prize, the team went on secure a $50,000 innovation grant from the New Jersey Health Foundation to grow their early-stage startup.

Second Place - Stork Source

Emily Dai, Soyi Sarkar, Yael Rayport, Sarah Chaudhary founded Stork Source to facilitate IVF fertility clinic patient matching. Their team was awarded a $1,500 prize and the chance to pitch to NJ Health Foundation investors.

Third Place - Clear Care

Nitya Devisetti, Leisha Devisetti, Nidhi Banker founded Clear Care to streamline perioperative care. They won $1,500 and an additional $25,000 grant from the NJ Health Foundation.

FutureMed

The FutureMed Competition is a national healthcare innovation pitch competition founded at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 2024, open to students and professionals alike.

Join dozens of innovative students to turn your healthcare idea into an early-stage startup company. Created to address a crucial gap in medical education, FutureMed empowers students and professionals to drive real change by innovating solutions to healthcare challenges they observe firsthand. Partnering with the NJ Health Foundation and Foundation Venture Capital Group, we’re thrilled to offer $5,000 in prize money to support the winning teams’ groundbreaking ideas. Our program emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and hands-on innovation, equipping participants with the skills to identify unmet medical needs and craft compelling pitches. FutureMed provides a dynamic platform for aspiring changemakers to transform their insights into actionable solutions, all while building a network of like-minded innovators. Open to participants nationally, FutureMed invites budding entrepreneurs and seasoned professionals alike to join us in reimagining the future of healthcare.
